About KiP
Kids in Philanthropy (KiP) envisions a more empathetic, compassionate and connected world where young people are equipped to make a difference and communities are actively supporting those in need.
Founded in 2012, KiP enhances the quality of life of young people experiencing disadvantage through programs that provide essential goods and donations that improve their living conditions and enable all young people to experience the gift of giving; increased compassion and empathy, capability development, and self-empowerment.
We firmly believe that everyone possesses the power to make a difference; they simply need the opportunity to do so. We partner with schools and charities to improve the quality of life of young people experiencing disadvantage and empower young people to become changemakers, enabling them to donate their time, talent, and treasure to support those in need.
Opportunities for young people to perform acts of service are rare and often inaccessible due to legal requirements and the capacity needed to facilitate such initiatives. We believe that the learning and wellbeing benefits derived from being a changemaker are invaluable for young people and are committed to making more opportunities to give back to the community available to young people across Australia. Research demonstrates that giving can have profound positive effects on individuals, including enhancing their wellbeing, fostering stronger community connections, and cultivating valuable skillsets and knowledge. We believe all young people should be able to experience this gift of giving.
The beauty of our programs lies in their multifaceted impact. Not only do participants in KiP sessions contribute to helping others, but they also cultivate social awareness, develop their capability, grow their compassion and empathy, and enhance their wellbeing.
