Meet our people

  • Simone has wide ranging experience in communications, marketing and sponsorship having worked for a variety of organisations and consultancies. She enjoys helping organisations identify strategic opportunities to expand and improve their communications. Simone has developed and delivered numerous external communication plans, achieving national media coverage for these campaigns.

    Simone is passionate about social justice, protecting our environment, and fostering an increased culture of philanthropy and empathy amongst our youth.

  • Rob is a family strategist, working extensively with Australian and international families to realise both their financial and family objectives. Rob has broad experience in working with unique and varied family businesses, providing specialised advice that encompasses their business operations, accounting, taxation and estate planning needs. Rob has particular expertise in working with families to realise the wealth potential of significant assets, ensuring strategies are in place to facilitate the wealth transition to the next generation of family leaders.

  • Romy is a teacher by profession with many years experience working in schools before moving to the philanthropic sector. Romy assisted in setting up her family’s foundation, which she currently runs.

    Romy is passionate about education, children and social change. In 2014 Romy founded Agents for Change, a school based program, which aims to promote social change, empathy and philanthropy in the next generation.

    Romy also sits on the board for the Ajax Football Club.

    As a Marketing Officer at Philanthropy Australia, Sarah aims to highlight the contribution of the philanthropic sector to the community, as she is driven by the desire to promote the welfare of others.

    Within the charitable sector, Sarah has a wide range of youth advocacy experience, as she is Vice-Chair of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition,

    Australia’s national youth peak body, Founder of KOS Magazine, and is a Nexus Australia committee member. She holds a Bachelor of Media and Communications and is studying a Master of Marketing at Monash University.
  • A solicitor by training, Cathy is General Counsel of Scalzo Foods, one of Australia’s largest privately owned diversified food businesses. She is also CEO of the Scalzo Family Office,  a trustee of the Grace and Emilio Foundation, Chair of ygap’s Impact Committee and a board member of the Western Economic Development Alliance. Cathy has had previous experience as a senior associate at Allens and as a diplomat at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

  • Tina has a background in speech pathology with a PhD in children’s voice problems. She is an experienced clinician across paediatric and adult communication, speech and swallowing, and worked as an educator in the tertiary sector. She believes that education is key and enjoys that KiP provides a platform to educate and empower young people to be changemakers of the future, by giving them a lived experience of what it means to be a philanthropist.

    Sarah is a Chemical Engineer by trade and worked as a Process Engineer for Qenos before transitioning to the not-for-profit sector.

    Passionate about creating change in the community, Sarah joined KiP’s Hangout for the Homeless committee in 2015 and has not looked back. Sarah has been instrumental in overseeing the strategic direction of the organisation. This has included growing both KiP’s network in the NFP sector and the impact from their key events.

    Sarah holds 1st class Honours Degrees in both Engineering and Business Administration from RMIT. Sarah is most engaged when able to advocate for those in need, and align teams to a common purpose.
