Simone Dunstan has been appointed Chair of Kids in Philanthropy (KiP), as out-going Chair, Cathy Scalzo steps down but remains on the Board.
Simone first joined the KiP Board in 2021 and has volunteered with the organisation since 2020 as Director of Marketing and Communications.
KiP has been fortunate to have had Cathy’s knowledge and guidance during her time as Chair and the organisation is grateful she is choosing to stay on the Board.
Cathy’s Family Foundation the Grace and Emilio Foundation are principal supporters of KiP.
During Cathy’s three year tenure she worked closely with KiP’s CEO Sarah Wade and was instrumental in guiding the strategic direction of KiP.
“The Grace and Emilio Foundation is proud to support KiP’s work inspiring the next generation of philanthropists. My family has been greatly enriched by volunteering with KiP and I look forward to continuing on the Board as KiP begins a new chapter under Simone’s leadership,” Cathy said.
Simone has wide ranging experience in communications. Previous positions before transitioning to the NFP sector include running a boutique consulting business for 9 years while raising her young family. Prior to that she held positions including Public Relations Manager at Beringer Blass Wine Estate and Senior Publicist at Dreamcoat PR. Clients have included Dominion Hotel Group, Crown Entertainment Complex as well as numerous FMCG products. National media campaigns have included Yellowglen Bubbly Girl Search, TV Week Logie Awards and KiP’s Hangout for the Homeless.
KiP aims to grow a culture of giving and social changemaking in Australia by engaging schools, children and families in workshops where they learn about the social problems within their community and then participate in hands-on activities such as preparing meals and care packs to help those in need.
